McCabe to Panthers for Van Ryn

Bryan McCabe as rumored elsewhere and reported here, has been traded to the Florida Panthers along with a fourth round draft pick for Mike Van Ryn. This deal makes the Panthers better and frees up even more cap space in Toronto... for... god knows why. Kidding aside I also think it makes the Maple Leafs a better team as it gives Kaberle and Kubina defined roles and adding to the overall defensive depth. Van Ryn is a more responsible defender then McCabe ever was and McCabe joins a glut of talented two way d-men making his defensive short comings less of an issue.
